Lesson Learned By Dr. King

As first generation Americans, business owners, and entrepreneurs, we look for inspiration in many places. Martin Luther King Jr. gives us a mantra that makes sense in all aspects of our lives:

“If you can’t fly then run, if you can’t run then walk, if you can’t walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward.“

The real question is what does moving forward look like for you. If you are an entrepreneur, this is a question you will ask yourself often.  For some, forward movement looks like a new fund-raising round; and for others it looks like closing shop and moving to a next project. There is no right answer; success does not look the same for all people. This was a particularly difficult lesson for me to learn – don’t compare yourself to another person’s reality. Determine what your success looks like and keep moving forward to meet that success.
